Biography
Sayaka Akioka received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Waseda University in 2004. She received her B.E. in Computer Science from Waseda University in 1999, and her Master of Computer Science from Waseda University in 2001. Prior to joining Meiji University in April 2013, she was a researcher and associate professor in IT Research Organization at Waseda University.

Previously, she was an assistant professor in Graduate School of Information Systems at The University of Electro-Communications from 2007 to 2010, a post-doctoral researcher in Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University from 2005 to 2007, a project researcher at National Institute of Informatics from 2004 to 2005, and a research associate in Media Network Center at Waseda University from 2001 to 2004.

Research
Professor Akioka's research interests include, but are not limited to, cloud computing, parallel and distributed computing, and data mining. In particular, her research focuses on the development of scheduling and load balancing algorithms, and their applications to data analysis, scientific computing, machine learning, and CPU architectures.
